SVDDEN DEATH (Danny Howland) Biography

SVDDEN DEATH is not just a DJ—he’s an architect of sonic destruction. Born Danny Howland in Northern California, he emerged in the mid-2010s as a force of nature in the dubstep scene, with a sound defined by chaos, cinematic tension, and bone-rattling bass. With early releases on underground titans like Never Say Die: Black Label, Howland quickly earned a reputation for crafting music that felt more like a possession than a playlist.

His breakout track “Behemoth” (2018) became a modern riddim classic—haunting, heavy, and instantly recognizable. But it was his creation of the dark, masked persona VOYD that truly set him apart. The VOYD experience isn’t just a set—it’s a ritual. Combining occult visuals, industrial soundscapes, and heavy lore, VOYD shows have become a cult phenomenon at festivals like EDC, Lost Lands, and Bass Canyon.

In 2021, Howland launched his own imprint, VOYD Music, giving him full control to build an artistic empire free from commercial boundaries. Since then, he’s dropped tracks like “Purgatory”, “Born to Die”, and “Transmutation Sequence”, each expanding his mythology and deepening fan devotion.

More than a DJ, SVDDEN DEATH is a storyteller—his narrative just happens to unfold through bass drops and blood-red visuals.
