Alison Wonderland (Alexandra Margo Sholler)

Born in Sydney, Australia on September 27, 1986, Alexandra “Ali” Sholler began her musical journey in classical halls—playing cello with the Sydney Youth Orchestra—and later shredding bass guitar in local indie bands . A chance encounter with electronic music—a late-night club’s spin of The Knife—lit the spark that led her to teaching herself production and DJ’ing by 2008 .

Launching her stage name in 2009, she quickly gained recognition remixing artists like Sam Sparro and Ladyhawke, and eventually signed with EMI Australia . Her debut EP Calm Down and breakthrough 2012 single “I Want U” propelled her into the spotlight. In 2015, her first full album, Run, peaked at No. 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart, earned Gold certification, and earned nominations at the J‑Awards and ARIA Awards .

She stormed the U.S. scene with a triumphant debut at Coachella, setting a record as the highest billed female DJ ever at the festival . Her second album, Awake (2018), climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums—marking a back-to-back chart-topping streak—while earning her Billboard’s Breakout Artist of the Year title .
